Among other accomplishments, the Colonial Beach Education Foundation has been responsible for scholarships for seniors at the High School, a new library for the Elementary School, playground equipment, musical instruments and uniforms for the school band and much more!
UPDATE November 2017: The Colonial Beach Foundation has taken over the function of the CBEF.
The Foundation was praised for their generous contribution toward shipping costs for 40 holiday packages to be sent from the local schools to their adopted Troops, a Platoon from Ft. Lee, VA.
Some events that benefit the Colonial Beach Education Foundation include the Annual Rod Run to the Beach and the Thunder at the Beach bike show, and the former "Party on the Potomac" event organized by Project Colonial Beach, which hasn't been held for a number of years now.
Originally formed by Dr. Donald R. Warner when the new Colonial Beach High School was being built, and it was then disbanded. During the time that Dr. Alice Howard was Superintendent, she started it back up.
Upon Dr. Warner's retirement in 2001, his commendation stated that under his leadership, the Colonial Beach Education Foundation and the Colonial Beach School Board were awarded the Community Involvement in Education Award by the Virginia Community Education Association and the Virginia Department of Education.
