Bark at the Beach
Dogs are legally allowed on our public beaches from October 1 - April 30 each year. The Bark at the Beach event celebrates this with a fun and free event for dogs and dog lovers at Castlewood Beach (a.k.a. South Beach) on "The Point" in Colonial Beach.
Colonial Beach Rivah Dogs organizes this event and have been for the past three years. Their mission is to make this a more dog friendly and dog safe town, While the event is free, a $10 donation is suggested. All dogs must be on a leash and have a current dog license.

2:30 PM - 2:45 PM Rivah Plunge & Retrieval
2:45 PM - 3:00 PM Shake-off Contest
3:00 PM - 3:30 PM Awards Ceremony
